Stewart Piano Method
KIDS LEARN PIANO BEST IN GROUPS!
"PLAYING THE PIANO IS A SOCIAL ART AND CAN BE BEST LEARNED IN A SITUATION WHERE THERE CAN BE INTERACTION"
"YOUNGSTERS LEARN MUSIC FASTER IN GROUPS THAN IN ONE-ON-ONE TEACHING SITUATIONS"
Teach in small groups whenever possible. Children like to learn from each other and be with each other. The game time is much more fun in a group. They become used to performing in front of people and don't develop "stage fright." Teach 3, 4, 5 or 6 children in a group but don't expect the children to do things at the same time. Allow each to grow at his/her own speed and praise them liberally as each new skill is learned. The best kind of learning is discovering something for yourself. If the child discovers something before you get to it, praise them and enjoy the discovery.
